Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim: All Eyes Are Now on the National Alliance. They Must Make a Choice and Run a Candidate that Would Gain Wide Acceptance on the National Arena

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said the eyes are now on the National Alliance, so they must make a choice and run a candidate that would gain wide acceptance among the Iraqi citizens and confirm his compliance with the instructions and recommendations of the supreme religious authority. According to his Eminence, this is about completing the steps of building the successful reassuring political process which will result in the formation of a harmonious, competent team with clear vision and program in running the state, and the compliance with such recommendations will constitute an important introduction to success, so that we can enjoy a political stability followed by a security stability and a united position against terrorism which is attacking the country. This came during the ceremony held by his Eminence at his office in Baghdad on the International Quds Day on Thursday, July 24, 2014. He added that this is in addition to the development, reconstruction, prosperity and services for the citizens, considering the high number of votes earned by Dr. Fuad Masum as candidate for president agreed upon by all parties would play an important role in the success of his mission and job.
The head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq expressed his gratitude and appreciation for the members of the parliaments who withdrew their candidacies for president, since this indicates the great sense of responsibility they have for they are contributing in multiplying the efforts and facilitating the election of a president for the country.
On the other hand, his Eminence called on the international, Arab and Islamic community on the International Quds Day to advocate the lost rights of the Palestinian people by standing up against the injustice of the Zionist entity and its brutal military machine, hoping that their struggle be supported because they defend themselves against the targeting of the Arab and Islamic identity.
His Eminence recalled the role of the great religious marjas in highlighting the Palestinian cause and the grievance of the Palestinian people over the last decades. He said fixing the last Friday of the month of Ramadan as the date of the International Quds Day is an important message which indicates the absolute obedience to Allah the Almighty, to His prophet, to His Imams, to His Religion and to His Sharia, implying the disowning of His Enemies and the tyrants, oppressors and violators who stand in the way of the worship of Allah be He Exalted.
His Eminence also called for boycotting the Zionist entity politically, economically and at other levels, and for exercising a strong, effective pressure on it, as well as for freezing the relations since this is very important and helps stop the killing machine which is targeting the Palestinian women, children and cities.

Moreover, during the ceremony of the International Quds Day and the resistance of the Palestinian people against the assault, entitled "Al Quds, Symbol of Dignity", there were chants and poems by many poets, praising the heroisms of the Iraqi army and the Iraqis who are confronting the fiercest attack against their existence and unity, as well as those of the Palestinian people against the Zionists, their military, their tyranny and their arrogance.
