    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Discusses Security Developments in Iraq with General John Allen and New U.S. Ambassador Brett Mkourk

    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, received in his office in Baghdad, on Friday, October 3, 2014, the leader of the coalition against ISIS, General John Allen, and the new U.S. ambassador Brett Mkourk.
    The two sides discussed security developments in Iraq and the ways to confront ISIS and terrorist groups. His eminence stressed the need to respect the sovereignty of Iraq and to invest the international support to fight ISIS, calling to support the security forces through armament and intelligence information. He also reiterated his refusal for the presence of any land forces on the Iraqi land, praised the efforts made by the popular rally and highlighted the importance of institutionalizing the popular rally and entrusting its combating sons with its management.
    His eminence explained that Iraq is fighting, on behalf of the world, a fierce war against one of the most terrorist and hateful groups, adding that terrorism is a cancerous tumor that will spread in the region if not removed on time.
