Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, discussed during his meeting held at his office on Wednesday, 5/11/2014, with Mr. Majid al-Nasrawi, Basra's governor, the security and political situations and the obstacles to the implementation of the projects in the province due to the failure of passingthe budget. In a press conference after the meeting, Mr. al-Nasrawi said they talked about the security challenges facing Iraq and emphasis was put on the province' situation given its political and security particularity. He also explained to his Eminence the reasons behind the interruption of some projects and how the failure to pass the budget adversely affected the service situation. He added that, according to the letters received by the province from the planning and finance ministries, the province has a big share of the petrodollars and it has already put in place its huge development plan and initiated the service projects accordingly, hoping that the budget will be passed very soon to ensure the implementation of the projects within the set deadlines and in order of priority.
