On the occasion of the Appointment of Sheikh Sattar Jabbar al-Helo as Sabean Mandean Leader, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Says Sabeanism Is an Asset to the Diverse Iraqi Society

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, said Sabeans in Iraq are asset to the Iraqi Society, considering the ethnic, religious and confessional diversity of Iraq as source of strength and richness. He also explained that the terrorist organizations, including the ISIS, don't believe in diversity and attack anyone differing with them, otherwise they would create conflicts with people from their own blood, hoping that the acts of the group will only make the Iraqis more united and live together in peace as it was the case thousands of years ago.
This came during his attendance of the inauguration ceremony held for Sheikh Sattar Jabbar al-Helo, leader of the Sabean Mandean community in Baghdad on Friday, November 14, 2014.
His Eminence stressed the importance of the peaceful coexistence, calling for spreading the culture of coexistence between the citizens, making clear that terrorism targets any human being anywhere.
