Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council in Iraq, stressed that the Arab Republic of Egypt plays a key role on the Arab, Islamic and international levels. His eminence expressed his happiness that Egypt has sent a high-level delegation to Iraq headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shoukry, calling to the continual communication between Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and Al-Hawza Al-‘Ilmiyya and the great ulemas in Najaf. As well, he stated that he discussed during his meeting with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, and his accompanying delegation, the bilateral relations between Iraq and Egypt on the political, economic and security levels, in his office in Baghdad Wednesday, December 17, 2014, calling on everybody to unite in view of addressing the problems.
For his part, Shoukry expressed his thanks for meeting Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, saying that he listened to the valuable and deep visions from his eminence regarding the situation in Iraq, and the ways to achieve harmony between the components of the Iraqi society and keep his lands unified. Shoukry has called to the continual communication, the convergence of views and the focus on gathering points between both countries, showing that Egypt is keen that Iraq remains an integral part of the Arab national entity for the benefit of peoples, stressing Egypt's support for Iraq in his run and reconstruction.
