    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim Receives British Ambassador and Stresses the Need to Prevent Iraq’s Enemies from Affecting Unity

     
    Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the need for harmony among all Iraqi components and national forces, and highlighted the importance of preventing the enemies of Iraq from affecting its unity. His eminence affirmed that partnership requires real courage and preference for the national interest by all Iraqi parties, calling upon British companies to invest and work in Iraq, especially in the development of the fuel system so as to enable the advancement of the country’s economic situation and ensure welfare and reconstruction.
    This came when Sayyid Ammar Al Hakim was receiving the ambassador of the United Kingdom to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Frank Baker in his office in Baghdad on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
    For his part, the British ambassador assured his government’s support to Iraq throughout its political and democratic experience and its war on terrorism. He also urged all Iraqi forces and components to maintain self-restraint and overcome the recent security violations, underlining his country’s eagerness to incite British companies to invest and develop the infrastructure in Iraq, especially in the province of Basra.
    The two sides also discussed during the meeting the political situation in the country and the laws expected to be discussed and ratified by the Iraqi parliament.
