Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stressed the importance of concerted efforts between the Arab and Islamic nation and the world to fight, counter and criminalize the schemes of ISIS and the terrorist groups aimed at creating chaos and shedding the blood of the innocent people. This came during a meeting held between his Eminence on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his office in Baghdad and the Libyan Ambassador to Baghdad, Naji Ahmed Shalgham, accompanied by the Consul General and the Embassy’s political counselor. He said that all parties must take a defensive position and join in an effort to fight this extremist group that has bad intentions against the nation. His Eminence also expressed his grief for the dangerous events Libya has been going through, and asked Allah to save the Libyan people from this misfortune. Both sides said they share the same points of view concerning the international and regional situations, the necessity of concerted efforts between brothers and friends and the reinforcement of the national unity between the Arab peoples to overcome the dangers that threaten their societies and future.
