    During a Meeting with the Iranian Vice-President, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Stresses the Need for Stronger Relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq on at the Security, Political and Economic Levels


        Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, stresses the need for stronger relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq at the security, political and economic Levels, explaining that the New Iraq is open to all the neighboring countries including the Islamic Republic of Iran. According to him, the Iraqi will soon defeat ISIS and will liberate their lands without the help of foreign armies, stressing the importance of cooperating in security matters and of exchanging information to do away with ISIS.
    This came during a meeting held between his Eminence on Tuesday on February 17, 2015 and the Iranian Vice-President, Eshaq Jahangiri, where both sides discussed the political situation in the region, the anti-ISIS war and the economic crisis driven by the fall of oil prices.
        For his part, Mr. Jahangiri praised Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim’s efforts in bringing the Iraqi politicians’ different points of view closer, asserting the support of this country for Iraqi and for the unity of its people and its land.
