In a Meeting with Ambassador Al-Tani, Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim Confirms its Support for the Activities Accomplished by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in the File of City Restoration and National Reconciliation

Sayyid Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq,
underlined its full support for the efforts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in all activities accomplished in Iraq, especially those strengthening city restoration and national reconciliation in the country. His Eminence expressed his confidence that the following conference of the Organization would witness the activation of Mecca conference decisions and the involvement of groups that did not participate in the conference to increase its effectiveness.
This came in a meeting between Mr. Hamid Al-Tani, the Ambassador of the OIC, and Sayyid al-Hakim in his office in Baghdad, on Tuesday, March 17, 2015.
For his part, Mr. Hamid Al-Tani praised the support received by the OIC of His Eminence, expressing his hope that the Iraqi leaders would support the OIC that responded to their proposals to hold a second conference to activate Mecca paper; thus, the conference would be able to discuss some resolutions to be implemented and to have consensus on the established issues. Al-Tani noted that the following conference would include all groups that did not participate or sign the paper, pointing out that the conference seeks basically to serve Iraq and offer everything that could serve the citizens’ interests, since the organization is considered as a partner, it is generally accepted by everybody and it could make efforts to promote national reconciliation and stop Iraqi bleeding due to terrorism.
