Sayyid Al-Hakeem meets the British Ambassador, discusses bilateral relations.
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of the National State’s Powers Alliance, met with His Excellency Stephen Hitchen, the British Ambassador to Iraq, to discuss the progress of bilateral relations between our two nations and explore ways to enhance them to benefit all parties and uphold the country’s sovereignty.
His Eminence praised the government’s efforts in service and development and emphasized the importance of supporting it on this path, as it helps strengthen the citizens' connection to the political system. Additionally, H.E. stressed the need to maintain political stability in Iraq and work towards making it permanent.
H.E. encouraged drawing from other countries' experiences in financial and economic reform, tailoring those experiences to fit Iraq’s circumstances, and highlighting the significance of the British experience in this field.
H.E. noted that the Iraqi constitution guarantees freedom of expression and belief, underscoring the importance of respecting and safeguarding it as the foundational reference in democratic systems.
