Sayyid Al-Hakeem: local governments are essential to provide services, kickstarts urban development
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the Chairman of the Baghdad Provincial Council, Mr. Ammar Al-Qaisi, and underscored the crucial role of local governments in delivering services and driving reconstruction and development. His Eminence also stressed the need for cohesive collaboration between provincial councils, governors, and other state institutions.
H.E. emphasized the importance of provincial councils as the best representation of the constitutional principle of decentralization and the necessity of restoring local government powers to meet their obligations to the public.
Furthermore, H.E. called for increased focus on the outskirts of Baghdad by providing essential services, completing stalled projects, and launching strategic infrastructure initiatives.
