Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Al-Hikma National Movement Conference Affirms State-Building, Moderation, Calls for Renewed Discourse, Youth Empowerment, Digital Transformation

At the General Conference of Al-Hikma National Movement's General Assembly, in its third session — named after the martyr Sayyid Mahdi Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified) — His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem noted that the conference is being held under difficult circumstances facing Iraq and the region, describing it as a message and expression of Al-Hikma National Movement's commitment to its duty toward the people, its dedication to the course of political work, and an affirmation of the movement's approach of moderation, state-building, and reform.

In his address, H.E. underlined the importance of exceptional performance under exceptional circumstances, commending the role of Al-Hikma National Movement's General Assembly as the movement's leadership incubator, and stressing to its members the need to fully understand their role and standing.

H.E. affirmed that internal elections are an expression of progress and a break from stagnation, noting that they send a message to every active and influential figure within the movement that the door to its highest positions is open, under the approved conditions and criteria. H.E. stressed the importance of upholding the movement's constants while renewing ideas and developing tools and mechanisms, calling for the selection of individuals who possess political acumen and analytical depth, who are sincere and dedicated, active in the field, committed to the movement's project, discreet, and bound by political decisions once made, while engaging openly in discussion before those decisions are reached.

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem reaffirmed Al-Hikma National Movement's identity as a movement of the state, not of chaos, a movement of national unity, of reason and moderation over impulse, of solutions, comprehensive vision, and balance. H.E. affirmed the movement's belief in a modern, just, and strong state, and in comprehensive review to identify and address shortcomings, pointing to the movement's role in the political process and stating: "The road ahead in building the state and meeting our people's aspirations remains long, and we must open up to the public in a manner befitting the movement's size and social influence."

H.E. also stressed the need for a new vision, new tools, and a renewed discourse, noting that Iraqi youth are partners in decision-making in a way that matches their ambitions and standing, and must be given the full space they deserve. H.E. underlined the importance of the intellectual and ideological formation of the movement's members, commitment to promises, adherence to truth, and reliance on Allah — renewing the call to engage with the history of Al-Hikma National Movement and its men and symbols.

H.E. further emphasized that artificial intelligence and digitization must be treated as a top priority, stressing the importance of far-reaching influence through scientific tools, and the development of political and media discourse to bring it closer to the people — while maintaining a state-oriented discourse and contributing to the building of a modern, just state.

H.E. also stressed focusing on regional organizational leaders, supporting, developing, and activating their roles, and preparing leadership capable of managing and bearing decision-making responsibility under both normal and exceptional circumstances. H.E. renewed emphasis on service as a defining characteristic of Al-Hikma National Movement, alongside efforts to improve people's living standards and deliver services by leveraging every available means.

H.E. affirmed the importance of ongoing engagement with the public, listening to its demands, delivering genuine service, participating in decision-making, launching public service initiatives, disregarding smear campaigns, and holding firmly to the Supreme Religious Authority and its guidance. H.E.
"The Iraq we want is independent, stable, prosperous, and just," affirming the importance of Iraq being a point of balance — preserving principles, safeguarding the state, and preventing its slide into chaos — which requires being part of the system that protects stability.

H.E. praised the resilience of the Iranian people in the face of challenges, their support for the state, and their fulfillment of their obligations under the most difficult of circumstances, through strong and sound institutions — stressing the importance of institutionalism and the entrenchment of justice, and calling for continuity and the completion of what others have begun.
