Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Meets Halabja People’s Delegation
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Power’s Alliance, met with a delegation from the city of Halabja, which included several of its sheiks, dignitaries, and members of Parliament. His Eminence listened to their concerns and demands and reflected on the tragedy that struck the city when the former regime bombed children, women, and unarmed civilians with chemical weapons. H.E. advocated for documenting these crimes and their inclusion in educational curricula to ensure that future generations are aware of this history.
H.E. also affirmed the importance of granting Halabja the governorate status, called for the passing of the relevant law, and emphasized that Parliament must take responsibility for this important matter.
