Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, received in his office in Baghdad the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Muhsin Al-Mandalawi. The meeting addressed the latest political developments and the upcoming electoral entitlement, both viewed as key issues on the national agenda. His Eminence emphasized the importance of preserving the stability currently achieved in the country—a stability born of great efforts and sacrifices made by all Iraqis. H.E. noted that the present stability remains fragile and uncertain, requiring consolidation and continuity through practical and realistic measures, with the upcoming elections serving as a vital gateway toward that goal. H.E. underscored the need not to squander this opportunity, calling for electoral competition to be grounded in actionable and realistic programs capable of earning voters’ trust and sustaining the democratic process. H.E. also urged focus on the challenges ahead and highlighted the importance of Iraq’s engagement with regional issues from a position of responsibility and balance—without becoming entangled in their details—stressing the necessity of supporting Iraq’s openness to its regional and international surroundings in ways that safeguard the nation’s supreme interests.
