Sayyid Al-Hakeem, During Meeting Joran Tribal Leaders: Iraq Overcame Hardships Through People’s Awareness, Religious Authority Guidance
His Eminence, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from the esteemed Joran tribe, recalling the long-standing relationship between the Al-Hakeem family and the Joran tribe since the era of Shaheed Al-Mihrab, the Ambassador of the Religious Authority, and Aziz Al-Iraq — may their souls be sanctified.
H.E. spoke about the series of challenges Iraq faced over recent decades, foremost among them the security crisis and the threat of terrorism under its various names, along with social challenges and attempts to promote sectarianism, as well as political challenges marked by conflict, polarization, and the regional and international isolation Iraq endured at the time.
H.E. affirmed that Iraq suffered from the demonization of the post-2003 experience, yet today has regained its regional and international standing. H.E. stressed that Iraq managed to overcome these hardships and difficulties by Allah’s grace, the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority, the wisdom of political and social leaders, and the awareness and resolve of Iraqi tribes, clans, and elites. H.E. called for gratitude for the divine blessings represented in the political, social, economic, and security stability achieved, and for safeguarding these accomplishments, which were built upon pure blood and great sacrifices — noting that this is precisely why the choice of the slogan #DoNotWasteIt was appropriate and intentional.
H.E. pointed out that the upcoming elections represent a pivotal juncture in Iraq’s history, marking a transition from fragile stability to sustainable stability, emphasizing the need to empower the forces of moderation for their essential role in anchoring and reinforcing long-term stability.
