Sayyid Al-Hakeem Receives PUK Delegation, Urges Faster Government Formation
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of National State Powers Alliance, met this evening in Baghdad with a delegation from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan led by Nizar Amidi, where both sides exchanged congratulations on the success of the recent elections and the strong public engagement that reaffirmed the Iraqi people’s commitment to the democratic and electoral process.
His Eminence stressed the need to expedite the formation of the federal government, as well as completing the steps required to form the government in the Kurdistan Region in a manner consistent with constitutional entitlements and the requirements of the coming phase.
H.E. highlighted the importance of preserving the stability achieved through the sacrifices of Iraqis, emphasizing that electoral programs must be translated into practical plans that respond to citizens’ aspirations while upholding constitutional timelines.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also called for adopting dialogue as the path to resolving pending issues among political parties, underlining the importance of making compromises that serve the higher national interest. H.E. noted that Iraq continues to accumulate positive developments and must make effective use of the current constructive atmosphere to achieve a qualitative improvement in political, executive, and legislative performance.
