Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Tribal Sheiks, Dignitaries from Bani Tamim, Al-Taji, Northern Baghdad: Sectarianism Is Political, Not Social

His Eminence, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from the esteemed Bani Tamim tribe, along with several sheikhs and dignitaries from Al-Taji district and northern Baghdad, at Bani Tamim tribal guesthouse hosted by Sheikh Muslih Al-Zgem.
H.E. recalled the long history that links the Al-Hakeem family with these respected tribes, noting that blood and tears were present at many critical moments in Iraq’s history. H.E. underscored the importance of managing the country’s diversity and transforming it into a source of strength by ensuring fair opportunities for all citizens, calling for the reinforcement of coexistence among Iraq’s societal components. H.E. stressed that sectarianism is, at its core, political rather than social, as Iraq has long witnessed deep-rooted cohesion and coexistence among its components.
H.E. affirmed that rebuilding Iraq’s internal unity was achieved by Allah’s grace, the guidance of the Supreme Religious Authority, and the honorable stances of people from all parts of the country. H.E. noted that the slogan #DoNotWasteIt is not merely an electoral phrase, but an expression of appreciation for national achievements realized through immense sacrifices.
H.E. stated that the upcoming elections represent a pivotal moment comparable to the significance of the 2005 elections, emphasizing the need for wise choices and the empowerment of moderation, as the vote is a trust and the path of moderation remains the guarantor of Iraq’s protection and the safeguarding of its people’s interests.
